Fall 2026 Season: Important Dates

Fall 2026 Season Overview

The fall season starts in early August and runs through October, with no activities scheduled over Labor Day weekend or DCSD fall break. The season may extend into early November for 10U and above for regional AYSO tournaments.

Most activities will occur weekdays after school or Saturdays; actual game schedules will not be determined until close to the season's start. Practice days and times will be at the discretion of coaches.

Please be aware by registering your player they will be randomly placed on teams.
While our aim is to form teams based on player location preference, placement on teams who practice in a specific area of the valley is not guaranteed as this is dependent upon on the availability and location of our volunteer coaches.
Parents will be notified of their practice days/times and locations once teams have been formed and Coaches are assigned, the week prior to first practice.

PRACTICES

Practice location/days/times are chosen by our volunteer head coaches and is based on field availability.

LOCATIONS
Practices are held at available, pre-approved fields throughout the Carson Valley (as far north as Indian Hills/Jack’s Valley Elementary School and as far south as Scarselli Elementary).

DAYS/TIMES
   Kickstart: Saturday morning sessions only, no mid-week practice

6U-14U:  Available practice times may be between 4:30pm – sundown, Monday through Thursday.
  Exact days, times, and location are are at the discretion of our volunteer head coaches.

6U-10U: Saturdays at Ranchos Aspen Park between 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

12U: Typically participates in inter-regional play (interplay)
Saturdays between 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

Age Determination & Divisions

Which division will my player be placed in?

New Age Groups / Divisions for the Fall 2026 Season

Beginning with the 2026/2027 membership year and Fall 2026 season, the AYSO is changing to a more school year-like age division system, aligning with U.S. Soccer and other major youth soccer organizations.

Under this model, a player’s division is based on their age during the school-year timeframe of August 1 through July 31.

To determine the appropriate division for your player, please see the following chart.

Register by June 30 for $20 off of regular registration pricing. Fees increase beginning July 1st.

Space is limited, and divisions may fill quickly. The season begins in mid‑August; we look forward to seeing you on the field!

Additional Fees:

$25 AYSO National Membership Fee* (charged annually, non‑refundable)
This fee covers AYSO insurance and national program services.

$3.50 Sports Connect transaction fee (per transaction, non‑refundable)
Tip: Register all players in one transaction to avoid multiple service fees.

Optional: Player insurance is available at an additional cost during registration checkout (non‑refundable).

Sibling discounts available!

$5 off for each additional player registered in the same family. If siblings are in the same division, they may be assigned to the same team, if requested. Requests must be made at the time of registration, and prior to the season's registration close date.

What is included in the registration fee?

Administrative costs, insurance, field permits and maintenance, equipment, volunteer training, and overall program operations.

Player Equipment Needs

style= Every player will need the following, for all practices and games:

Shin Guards
Required for all players and must be fully covered by tall socks. We recommend shin guards are worn directly against the skin (not over socks).

Water Bottle (labeled with player's name)
Players need their own water bottle filled with water (no sports drinks, etc.).

Soccer Ball (labeled with player's name)
Each player should bring an age-appropriate ball to every practice and game. Coaches may not have enough balls for all players during warm-ups or practices. *Kickstart players are provided a new size 3 soccer ball, included in registration fees.

BALL SIZES
Size 3: Kickstart, 6U, 8U
Size 4: 10U, 12U
Size 5: 14U

Appropriate Soccer Shoes
Cleats or sensible athletic shoes are fine as long as they’re safe for soccer. Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. No baseball or football cleats (toe cleats are NOT allowed).

WAITLIST INFORMATION

The waitlist is usually turned on after the regular registration deadline or if the maximum number (cut off number) has been reached prior to the last day of registration.

We utilize the waitlist as a "pause button" to determine if we can make more teams or to "fill in" for dropped players.
Moving off of the waitlist may take a few weeks and some patience, but you will be contacted via email if your player has been "activated" from the waitlist.
Once you are activated from the waitlist, you have 48 hours to pay to get your child on the team at that point.
No player that registers is guaranteed to play, as this is ALWAYS based on the number of VOLUNTEER coaches that are available for your child's division.
It's possible that a player can jump off of the waitlist if a parent of a waitlisted player volunteers to be a HEAD coach for the division where coaches are still needed. Please contact us if interested.
Players are put back on the waitlist in a backwards chronological order to instill fairness for our process, if we run out of volunteer coaches.

Scholarships

Scholarships & Financial Assistance

A limited number of scholarships are available for the season through a generous donation provided by the Coach Stephen Cochran Fund.

Partial or full scholarships may be offered (does not include the $25 national fee).
To be considered, volunteer participation during the season is requested.
Awards are based on funding availability and need; scholarships are not guaranteed.

How to Register

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please review instructions below before beginning the registration process.

Registration is completed online ONLY. Payments can be made via credit/debit card; CASH/CHECKS NOT ACCEPTED.
NO REGISTRATION IS FINAL UNTIL PAID IN FULL If a registration has been started, but not finalized by the registration close date for the season, the player is not registered in the program.
HOW TO REGISTER
Returning Families: If you are Returning (already have an account with AYSO Region 318), click on "LOGIN" located in the upper right corner of this site. Please do not create a new account if you are registering a returning player. Then search for available programs. New Families: If you are New to AYSO 318 and do not have an account with our Region, click the "REGISTER NOW" button located in the upper right corner.
Begin by creating your account, entering your (Parent/Guardian) information first. Once your account has been created you will be able to add your player's (Player/Participant) information. Next, select the division that you are registering for. If you are registering multiple players, you will need to do this for each. Complete the registration fields as prompted. If volunteering (including as a Coach or Referee) you can submit your Volunteer Registration Form during the registration process.

Picture Day

FALL 2026 PICTURE DAY

Included in player registration fees, Carson Valley Region 318 offers professional team and individual photos. Picture Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 19th (schedule TBD) at Ranchos Aspen Park near the playground.

(Photographer availabiltiy is limited, there will be no make up picture dates/times).

Photo Package Information

Each player will receive a Memory Mate (an 8x10 photo featuring both an individual and team picture) and four wallet-sized photos.
Any additional photo orders must be placed online after processing has been completed (usually within a few weeks after picture day). There will be no paper order forms or on-site ordering.
Up to two coaches per team will receive a complimentary coach & player print.

Picture Day Instructions

Players are to wear their full uniform for photos.
Each age group will have a scheduled time. Teams should gather and be fully assembled prior their scheduled time/lining up.
At the team's scheduled time, proceed together to the photo line.
Players will take individual photos first, followed by their team photo.
For individual photos, multiple poses will be taken. Buddy photos (siblings and/or buddies together) may be available upon request.

Ordering Additional Photos

Once the photographer has finished processing the images, Region 318 will notify parents when they are available.
Photos can be viewed and additional photos purchased directly via the online link that will be provided.
