The AYSO is a completely volunteer-powered nonprofit and always need help from coaches and referees to administrators and board members, make the season happen!

To REGISTER a player or as a volunteer, please login on this website (or create an account if you're new). TIP! Be sure to use an email you check regularly as this is one of the main ways we communicate. Then add your player and you will see available programs and volunteer opportunities.

BECOME AN AYSO COACH

As an AYSO coach, you’ll give our kids the opportunity to learn, play, and fall in love with the game of soccer in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. You’ll teach skills, encourage teamwork, and build confidence, all while inspiring young athletes to reach their potential as players, teammates, and individuals. By volunteering, you’re not just coaching a team, you’re helping strengthen our community, creating positive experiences for kids, and fostering a lifelong love of soccer.

Coaching is a blast and we provide training too! If you volunteer to coach, you also choose your team's practice days/times and locations!

Registered Volunteers:

Access age-division Coach Certification online through AYSOU: Learn how to access AYSOU through your Region portal

Playground / Schoolyard	Playground and Schoolyard Activity Leader Online or FULL in-person
6U	6U online or in-person
8U	8U online or in-person
10U	10U online or in-person plus 10U on field
12U	12U online, 12U in-person classroom and field
Intermediate (14U)	14U online, 14U in-person classroom and field Note:Completion of 12U Coaching Course is required

AYSO is an all volunteer organization. Every season, we need coaches, referees, schedulers, coordinators, and other fun positions to help make soccer a positive experience in the lives of the children of the Carson Valley!

Our season can only be successful with volunteers. If there aren't enough coaches, our kids can't play. Without referees, games get canceled. We simply cannot start a season without enough volunteers to run the games safely. There are many ways you can help, and it isn't as overwhelming as you may think. Step 1: Register as an AYSO Volunteer!

The first step to becoming an AYSO volunteer is to click on "Register Now." For First Time Volunteers: You'll need to create a new account by entering your email address, setting a password, and clicking "Create Account" to proceed with the registration process.

BECOME AN AYSO REFEREE

We pride ourselves on AYSO certified referees. It's a fun way to get involved in the game and to keep it "fun, fair, and safe". Referees are vital for age groups 10U and above - without referees there can be no games. A referee helps kids learn the game and what's allowed and not allowed. Think of this as a teaching position, rather than a policing position. Consider signing up, we will train you!

Youth referees can also earn community service hours and incentives too!

No experience necessary, AYSO provides training!

All volunteers have online training available to them through our national office. Training makes your job easier and creates a great soccer experience for our kids! Most training is available online, but some positions require field training as well.

Become an AYSO Board Member

Each region is required to have a Board of Directors in order to run a successful soccer program. Planning and organizing for each season is a year round effort. If you are interested in serving with your gifts of administration, please email our Regional Commissioner, Linda McHale ([email protected]).

Background Checks

1. You will receive an invitation from Sterling Volunteers, the company chosen by AYSO to perform background checks. If you have not received the email, please check your spam folder.

2. You will need to create an account on the Sterling Volunteers website, separate from your AYSO account.

3. Once the account is set up, you will spend a couple of minutes entering the information required to launch the background check. AYSO will cover the $25 fee for the background check.

4. You’re finished registering when you get to the "Congrats!" screen. You’ll be notified by Sterling when the background check is complete. Results will be sent directly to AYSO.
